Welcome to Music! There are so many benefits to an instrumental music education: the hard work required to learn an instrument can inspire self-discipline and self-esteem, which can have positive effects on students’ academic and home lives, and studies have shown that early musical training helps develop areas of the brain related to language and reasoning. By the end of their first year, students will be reading, writing, improvising, and composing music for the violin and performing for their peers, which encourages teamwork and can help fight stress. They’ll learn what it means to be part of an ensemble, and take pride in creating music together. Learning an instrument at such an early age gives our students the chance to participate in an activity that can enrich their lives and education until they graduate from college, while fostering a lifelong relationship with music.
