sSt. Andrew's School counts social and emotional learning as an important piece of student's education. To that end, the School Counselor meets with students for individual and small group sessions, as well as whole classes, to teach and reinforce social and emotional learning.
Components included in social and emotional learning include pro-social skills, which are skills that take into account the feelings and experiences of others. Pro-social skills are just that- they promote good social interactions that work to benefit the whole group, not just the individual. Examples of pro-social skills are: kindness, empathy, sharing and responsibility.
